Introduction
We are engaged by Mistry Ventures, an investment company that invests and nest start-ups to create their new office interiors in Colaba, South Mumbai.
The client brief was to create an open plan and playful feel that would create a nurturing environment for the startups while still keeping a minimal and cutting edge international feel to the space.
To enable these contrasting requirements we proposed to play with textures and light rather than colours as well as giving more attention to details and craftsmanship.
Concept
For the central concept we focused on a creating a central pathway that one side connects the different company clusters to the shared social and conference spaces on the other side.
Incubating Programs
The central spine allowed the clusters to be independent of each other while still creating the notion of a collective by sharing social spaces like pantry and library as well as all meeting spaces.
Lighting and Furniture Design
The pathway with its dynamic and fluid lights sets the mood of a minimal, modern and sleek workspace.
Overall the focus of design is on lightness with seamless terrazzo finishes and minimal and modular furniture made with a mix of birch ply, metal and felt.
